To improve the visibility and compliance of your products on Shopify, and to display product review stars on Google Shopping, it is essential to add key information such as the SKU, GTIN_EAN (for Europe) or GTIN_UPC (for the United States and Canada) and the brand. Follow these steps to add this information to your products.
Prerequisite
Use our new Shopify app for the automatic retrieval of your orders.
Procedure
- Log in to your Shopify account.
- From the dashboard, click Products to access your product list.
- Select the product to which you want to add the SKU, GTIN, and brand information. If you are adding this information to multiple products, repeat these steps for each product.
- Add this information:
SKUEnter the product’s SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) number. This number is generally unique to each product and can be used for inventory tracking.SKU field locationTo find the SKU field, scroll down the edit page to the "Variants" section. Here you will find a table with the different product variants.Add or edit the SKU fieldInside the variants table, you will see a column named "SKU". You can add or edit the SKU number directly in this column.GTIN_EAN (Europe) or GTIN_UPC (US, Canada)Depending on your region, enter the GTIN (Global Trade Item Number), either the GTIN_EAN for Europe or the GTIN_UPC for the United States and Canada. This code may include EAN, UPC, or other variants.GTIN field locationTo find the GTIN field, scroll down the edit page to the "Variants" section. Here you will see a table with the different product variants.BrandEnter the product’s brand name. This can help quickly identify the product and build customer trust.Brand field locationTo find the "Brand" field, scroll down the edit page to the "Variants" section. Here you will see a table with the different product variants.Add or edit the Brand fieldIn the variants table, look for the "Brand" column. You can add or edit the brand directly in this column.
- Once you have added all the required information, don’t forget to click Save to apply the changes to the product.
The GTIN, SKU, etc., will be automatically collected along with the rest of the information related to your customers’ orders.
