Automatic review flagging

Some reviews submitted by your customers are automatically flagged by our system.

If the comment in a review matches one of the reasons listed in this article, it will be automatically rejected and not published. Without any action on your part, this review will not appear on your certificate or your widgets.

Rejected reviews remain visible in your account, and you can even write a response to them. These reviews will be marked with the status Rejected and will display an automatic flagging badge:

Reasons for automatic flagging and rejection

Insults or offensive language

If the review comment includes insults, offensive language, or any other profanity, the review will be automatically flagged and rejected by our system.

As our list of flagged terms is extensive and updated regularly, you should not need to manually flag reviews for this reason.

If you still need to report an offensive review, we recommend using the reason:

The review is considered inappropriate, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, accusatory, racist, or contains a call to legal action.

Personal data

In accordance with AFNOR standards and GDPR, reviews must not contain personal data that could identify the consumer or any other person.

  • If the customer signs their review with the same first or last name used in the order/store purchase, the review will be automatically flagged by our system.
  • Verified Reviews also detects phone numbers and postal addresses.

If you need to report a review containing personal data, we recommend using the reason:

The review contains personal information or any other data that could be used to identify or contact the reviewer, or result in identity theft.

Reasons for automatic flagging and moderation

Character repetition

Our system automatically detects repeated characters such as "baaaaad" or "looove". Reviews with this pattern will be automatically flagged and placed under moderation.

If you need to report an unintelligible review, we recommend using the reason:

The description of the consumption experience is missing or considered unintelligible.

Unlike the first two reasons, repeated characters will not result in automatic rejection of the review. The review will be flagged automatically and placed under moderation for your team to review before publication.

Viewing automatically flagged reviews

From your account, you can always view automatically flagged reviews (even if they are not published).

  1. Go to the left-hand menu Review Management
  2. Use the filters on the right to select the date range from Submission Date
  3. In the Flag section, check Auto Flagged reviews
