You're in the process of merging two e-commerce sites, and you also want to merge the customer reviews of these two sites. Here's an action plan to help you achieve your goal. This plan consists of using a test account (ACCOUNT A) to run trials and a production account (ACCOUNT B) to display the reviews on the new site.
⭐ Things to know
Whether you want to merge two or more accounts, the procedure to follow will remain the same.
If you need to migrate reviews, be aware that this is a paid service.
Summary of functionality
The procedure consists of:
1. Use one of your accounts as a test account, to run the necessary tests
2. Then use your second account as a production account, to display reviews on the new site.
3. Merge the reviews from the test account with the production account.
Requirements
To follow this procedure, you must have two or more different accounts on the Avis Vérifiés platform.
You must also have:
- The URL of the pre-production site
- The URL of the final production
Procedure
Step 1: Using the test account
- Use one of your accounts as a test account (ACCOUNT A).
- Point this account to pre-production to perform the necessary tests.
- To do this, contact our support and send us the pre-production URL of the chosen account. We can then arrange for the server to redirect to the test account.
- Find the Website ID and Secret Key on your e-commerce back office.
Step 2: Using the production account
- Use the other account as the new production account (ACCOUNT B).
- Transmit the final production URL to our support. We will then be able to modify your account URL so that the redirection is properly made to the production site.
- This will allow you to have notices available for display as soon as the new site opens.
Step 3: Merge notices
- The final step will be the import of notices from the test account (ACCOUNT A) to the production account (ACCOUNT B).
- Reallocating reviews to a specific account requires the approval of the customer support quality team.
- Customer support will make the request to the quality team and wait for their feedback.
- It is possible that the quality team will impose certain conditions for the display of reviews, such as a label indicating that the review was collected on site A, for example.
Step 4: Viewing reviews
- In the event that products change reference, data will need to be caught up.
- You can download here an example file.
- When changing the URLs of your product pages, don't hesitate to add a column containing this information.
By following this procedure, you should be able to merge the customer reviews of your two e-commerce sites. Don't hesitate to contact customer support if you have any questions or need further assistance.
