The handling of reviews containing photos follows a slightly different process from that of standard reviews.
In this article, we explain in detail how the moderation of photo reviews works, the options you have for publishing or not publishing these images, and the notifications related to this process. This will better equip you to manage these reviews effectively and according to your preferences.
Receive Reviews with Photos
You can ask your customers to attach a photo to their product reviews.
To do so, we invite you to contact your account manager or our Care team to discuss the customization options for the review request form.
Once the upload field is integrated into your form, it will appear as follows:
It is important to note that adding a photo to a review is only possible for product reviews.
Moderation Process for Photo Reviews
Each review containing an attachment (photo or other) is automatically placed under moderation.
This means that the review will not be immediately visible on your site until it has been approved or 7 days have passed.
Photo Publishing Options
As a client, you have the option to publish or not publish the photo associated with a review, regardless of the publication of the review text itself.
Thus, even if you choose to publish the review, you can opt not to display the attached photo.
To do this:
- Click on the review in question to open its details
- Click on Unpublished Media:
- Check or uncheck the option to publish the photo:
Automatic Publication After 7 Days
Reviews under moderation do not remain in this state indefinitely.
After 7 days, the review is automatically published, even if you have not yet approved the photo. However, the photo itself will not be published if you choose not to validate it.
/
US & UK have 14 days before the review is published.
A review can only be flagged if it falls under a reason identified by AFNOR. You cannot flag a review simply because it is negative. Find the complete reporting procedure here: How to flag a review.
Notifications for the Consumer
No notification is sent to the consumer when their attachment (photo) is published or unpublished. This means the consumer will not be informed if their image is rejected or if it is not published with the review.
Retrieving the Image URL
If you retrieve your reviews via the FTP automation method, in the "Full" file you can find the product URL:
