Check the display of reviews on Google shopping

As an official Google partner, we offer you the opportunity to display their reviews on Google Shopping.

This article explains how to check the display of your reviews on Google Shopping.

Prerequisites

For product reviews to appear on Google Shopping, it is necessary to meet these conditions:

  • Reach the theoretical threshold of 50 product reviews collected in the last 12 months (the display time for a review after publication can range from 3 to 7 days).
  • Be in one of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

If these prerequisites are met, it is mandatory that you provide us with certain information required by Google Shopping when transmitting your orders. Here are the mandatory product data for display in Google SERP:

  • url_product
  • url_image_product
  • GTIN or [ MPN + brand_name ]

It is recommended to provide the following data:

  • SKU
  • CATEGORY
In the Google Merchant Center help center, you can find the definition of each data type, along with the required format and minimum conditions: Product data specifications.
The automatic "merchant reviews" extension must be active in your Google account settings.

Procedure for displaying your reviews on Google Shopping

Step 1 - Check the prerequisites

Step 2 - Transmit the data

  • Transmit all the mandatory data required by Google Shopping in your order information: (url_product, url_image_product, GTIN or [ MPN + brand_name ], SKU, CATEGORY).
  • You can check the proper transmission of these data from your Verified Reviews client area in the section Review Collection > Reporting - Review Requests.
  • Then you will need to click on the magnifying glass in the order reference column to display the order information that we retrieve.

Example below: in the "Products" section, only the product URL, product image URL, and SKU are present ⇾This is insufficient.

The mandatory GTIN or [ MPN + brand_name ] data is missing: reviews will not be displayed on Google Shopping

You can also verify the information in the published product reviews:

It is essential to transmit your orders with ALL the mandatory data required by Google Shopping.

Step 3 - Perform a data catch-up for older product reviews collected.

If some of your older product reviews have missing or nonexistent information, it is necessary to perform a Google Shopping data catch-up.

To do this, please contact us via the contact icon in the bottom right corner of this page. We will share with you a correspondence file (Excel file in CSV format) containing a list of ALL Product References & Product Names registered on our side.

You must then return the file to us, filling out the columns respectively (URL Product, URL Image Product, GTIN/ EAN or (MPN + Brand_Name), SKU, Category for each product with the information you have:

We will then perform the catch-up for you and generate a complete feed for Google Shopping.

The data catch-up is a service that may be subject to charges.

The star display

The minimum display time for stars on Google Shopping is 6/8 weeks.

Google remains responsible for the decision regarding the timing and display of stars.

Don't hesitate to contact Google Shopping support if you notice that your stars are not displaying despite sending all the mandatory data.

It is necessary that each product has all the information required by Google Shopping. If the file has gaps (e.g., GTINs are not present on all products), Google will consider the file as a low-quality catalog, and it is likely that the stars will not display.
