How to display my product reviews on Google Shopping (PLA)?

It is possible to display the number of reviews and the average rating of your product reviews on Google Shopping. This rating is represented as stars in the sponsored Google searches of your consumers.

Product reviews appear in both the regular Google results (SERP) and in the Product tab, for both paid ads and free listings. The display of stars enhances credibility, transparency, and trust.

This improves your e-reputation, click-through rate (CTR), and the ranking of your products, thereby increasing traffic and conversion rates. For more details, refer to the Google Shopping documentation on associating reviews with products.

Prerequisites

  • It is essential to have an active account on Google Merchant Center, linked to your online store. This allows you to retrieve the product feed from your site, which will then be displayed on Google Shopping's free listings.
  • Have a minimum of 50 reviews for all your products over the past 12 months.
  • Be part of the countries where Shopping ads and free listings are available.
  • Send the mandatory product data to Verified Reviews.

The display of stars and product reviews on Google Shopping may take up to 6 to 8 weeks from the submission of the first product review feed, due to the processing time required by Google.

The time required for a review to appear on Google Shopping can vary from 3 to 7 days from the submission of the feed.

Verified Reviews & Google Synchronization

As a Google partner, we handle the weekly sending of the product review feed containing all your reviews, including newly collected product reviews with the status published.

To view the data you send us

  • Go to the left sidebar menu, Review Management
  • Click on Product Reviews at the top of the page
  • Click on the product review of your choice and then check the section dedicated to product data: product reference, product name, etc.

Mandatory Data Transfer

If you notice that the data required by Google is still not associated with your product reviews, we invite you to add it by following the instructions below:

Depending on your transfer method

Prestashop - Documentation Connector
Prestashop – New Connector Documentation
Woocommerce - Connector Documentation
Magento 1 - Connector Documentation
Magento 2 - Connector Documentation
Shopify - New Connector Documentation
Historical version: Method of collecting reviews by importing a CSV file
New version: Method of automating review collection by importing a CSV file
Automation method: transmit orders by API
Automation Method: Collect Reviews via SFTP

After making these adjustments, you need to wait for 50 new product reviews that meet Google's criteria in order for these reviews to be displayed on Google Shopping.

To speed up the process of collecting the 50 reviews and therefore speed up the display of your product reviews on Google Shopping, we recommend catching up with historical reviews (see below).

Catching Up on Old Product Reviews

You probably have relevant reviews that did not include all the required data.

The data recovery process allows you to display all these product reviews and thus reach the required number of reviews demanded by Google.

Data recovery is a paid service. We invite you to contact our Care team via our contact icon.

This service includes:

  • Support from a project manager to update old product reviews by adding the required data.
  • Verification of the proper receipt of data.
  • Synchronization of your reviews (sending the full feed to Google).
  • Verification of your reviews' display on Google Shopping.

This will not impact your new product reviews if you choose not to update this data. However, reviews collected without the required data (or with incorrect data) will not be visible on Google Shopping.

Verify the display of reviews on Google Shopping

Once our instructions are followed, we strongly recommend verifying the display of reviews on Google Shopping by following the guidelines in this article.

Reviews still not showing

Please make sure that the data transmitted with your orders matches the information of your products already displayed on Google Shopping.

For example, a product may not display reviews on its Google Shopping product page, even if there are reviews in the associated feed, due to a mismatch between the data on the platform and the data associated with the reviews.

The display of reviews on Google Shopping is entirely up to Google's discretion.

If you're certain that you're sending the correct data to our services and your products appear to show the correct information, but you still don't see the reviews displayed, we recommend contacting Google's support team for an explanation.
